Celebrating Valentine's day- the singles edition

Valentine’s day for singles doesn’t need to painful. Find out how you can celebrate Valentine’s day even if you are single in this blog.

As soon as we hear Valentine’s day, we instantly think of cosy date night or movie date night with our partner. But for singles, the day is hard and the night is even harder on Valentine’s day. It’s natural to feel irritated when you can see everybody getting mushy and wherever your eyes go you see chocolates, teddy bears and cupid struck couples. Everybody wants to feel valued and appreciated especially on a day like this when you see your peers going out with a live embodiment of love and admiration.

And you’re not desperate to long for that affection, but it’s just a little tough to be single on Valentine’s day and we feel you. So, all the single ladies (and gentlemen) you don’t need to feel lousy not to have a valentine on this Valentine’s day. As they say, self-love is the highest form of love and that’s exactly the best gift you can give yourself by becoming your own valentine this Valentine’s day.

The best part of celebrating Valentine’s day being single is that you would get to celebrate it the way you want.

What singles can do on Valentine’s day?

No festival is complete without indulging in food and you do not want to miss out on the food on Valentine’s day. You can do many activities while gorging on some scrumptious food that you can make for yourself. Here’s a curated list of activities and food that will go together.

1. Movie night:

Whether the movie is a rom-com or thriller or of any genre, every movie night is incomplete without a tub of popcorn.

2. Indulge in skincare:

It’s always good to take care of your skin and try some DIY face masks or hair masks. While you are pampering your skin, you can feed your soul by eating something refreshing or eat a healthy smoothie bowl

3. Have a sleepover with your (single) friends:

It’s always fun to have a girl’s night and what better occasion than Valentine’s day? Drink up or eat till you drop some delicious food with your friends.

4. Dress up:

Don a pretty outfit that makes you feel confident and play dress up. Girls, you can go over the top with your makeup and accessorise your outfit to add extra oomph. Boys, you too can accessorise your outfit with a watch or funky neckpieces for an elevated look.  And obviously, you can eat pizza with wine or pasta with sangria.

5. Cook up a storm:

If cooking is therapeutic for you, then cooking a meal for yourself is the perfect way to celebrate your Valentine’s day. You can try to cook a dish of cuisine you have never tried before.

Try some of these activities to celebrate Valentine’s day and make your day worth for yourself. Remember you are good enough for yourself and lastly, you can indulge yourself in the sinful desserts
