Jaggery - The Perfect Companion for Your Tea…!

Jaggery - The Perfect Companion for Your Tea…!

Sugar’s modest cousin jaggery is fast gaining prominence as a healthy and nutritious sweetener and is replacing sugar not only in deserts but also in beverages. The latest rage in this segment is jaggery tea.

‘Cutting chai’ is what a majority of Indians thrive on. If you count the cups of tea glugged down in a day the sugar quota is a tad alarming...and unsweetened tea just doesn’t taste the same! In such a scenario jaggery is a life saver as it allows tea-buffs to cater to their fetish with lesser fear of piling on unhealthy calories.

Albeit both sugar and jaggery are prepared from sugarcane yet their compositions are radically different – unlike jaggery, sugar undergoes a lot of processing, during which it loses its essential minerals.
