Puran poli

Chana dal - 1 cup Sugar/grated jaggery-1 cup Maida-1 1/2 cup Cardamom powder-1 tsp Dry ginger powder-1/2 tsp Ghee. Tumeric 1 tsp Method: Boil chana dal and drain the remaining water. Add sugar/jaggery , cardamom powder, dry ginger powder. In a pressure cooker, cook the chana dal for 6 to 7 whistles. The dal should need not be mushy or pasty but cooked well. cook it till all the water is dissolve. Grind it to a fine mixture and make small balls out of it. Now the filling is ready. Next to make the cover. Take maida,water and take 1/2 cup oil to knead the dough. Knead a smooth dough. Now stuff the sweet filling in the dough. Begin to knead the dough, adding water as required. The dough should be smooth and soft. Cover and keep aside the dough for 15 to 20 minutes. Take a medium or large size ball from the dough. Place a portion of puran mixture in the center of the dough and close it from edges.Roll it 2 to 3 inches in circumference on a dusted rolling board. Now make round thin puran poli and place it on heated tawa on low to medium flame.Cook it on both sides.apply ghee generously. Your lovely puran poli is ready.
