The Mithai called Nankhatai

Nankhatai is derived from two words. The word ‘Nan’ comes from the Persian word Naan - a type of flatbread and 'Khatai’ comes from the Afghan word which means biscuit. Nankhatai is flavored with ghee, cardamom, and saffron and will melt in the mouth within no second. Its recipe is simple. It is made from ingredients that are easily available at home. You would need maida, besan, ghee, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and baking powder. I have been told that it was made in India even when ovens were not so common. It's a connection to the bakers who have been making these melt-in-mouth delicacies from way before our time. My fondest memories of Nankhatai is eating it with a cup of hot milk. There's truly a no better indulgence. #EatClickShare
