- pressure cook the amla along with a little water for three whistles. Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and deseed the alma. Grind the cooked amla in a mixer along with a little water and make into a smooth paste. Heat a kadai with oil, add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds and hing, allow it to crackle. Add red chilli powder and give it a stir, add ground amla paste and mix well. Add jaggery and salt and cook for a few minutes until the mixture comes together. Serve it with rice,chapathi,upma.
