  • Apples
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Honey
  • Lemon rind
  • Butter
  • All purpose flour
  • Rava/ suji
  • Ghee
  • Water

Instructions

  • For apple filling: Wash and chop apples in small pieces. Take a heavy base pan, add butter and then add apples, mix it well. Now add cinnamon powder, sugar and mix it. Cook these apples completely on low flame , add honey and give it a mix.
  • Knead a dough for gujiya: Take all purpose flour or maida in a big mixing bowl , add rava n ghee... mix this completely with your hand. Now add water in portion to knead a soft dough. Keep aside and cover it for 15 min.
  • Now take small portion from dough and start making small balls. Roll these balls into (up to 3.5 inch diameter), thin chapati size. Put this flat chapati on gujiya mould and put 1tbsp apple filling in it. Apply water on edges and seal it.
  • Make rest of the gujiyas like wise. And keep them covered .
  • Now deep fry these gujiyas in hot oil on low flame.... fry them in small batches only.
  • Enjoy these Apple gujiyas with your family and friends. You can spread some melted chocolate or caramel sauce to make it more yummy.

Notes/Tips

You can bake it also on preheat oven at 180* for 20 min... before putting them into oven apply some butter or milk on gujiyas.
