Besan laddoo

Instructions

  • Take a kadhai and add ½ cup of desi ghee. Let the ghee melt completely, then add 1 cup Besan to it. Roast it well in low flame till you get an aroma of the besan and till the besan changes its color.
  • Stir it continuously so that the besan doesn't burn in the base. The ghee will start melting and the besan mixture will turn semi liquid.
  • Roast it continuously for about thirty minutes on low flame, by now you'll get an aroma of the roasted besan,The color will also be brown And the mixture will turn liquid. At this stage add ¼ tsp of turmeric for color and stir it for 5 minutes More.
  • Turn off the flame and stir it so that it doesn't burn in the base as the vessel is still hot. Shift the mixture in a different bowl and let it rest till it is warm( warm enough that your fingers can go inside the mixture).
  • Once it is warm enough add ½ cup of powdered sugar part by part so that it is mixed in well. (Adjust the sweetness According to your taste).
  • Add raisins if you like them otherwise you can skip this and let the mixture completely cool down so that you can make the laddoo. For this take the mixture in a flat plate and spread it evenly so that it can cool faster.
  • Make the laddoo once it is cool. Once the laddoos are ready, put one raisin ( roasted in ghee for a minute or so) on top of the laddoo. Serve These delicious laddoo to your loved ones.

Notes/Tips

Roasting the besan on low flame is very important as the besan might turn up half cooked and half raw in medium or high flame. Let the mixture be warm, warm enough to put the fingers inside the mixture. If we add sugar to the hot mixture then the besan mixture will turn liquidy and it will be ruined. So let it be warm and don't completely cool it. Add the sugar part by part and adjust the sweetness as per your taste. Shift the mixture to flat plate to cool faster. Store in a dry container.
