- In a large bowl, take the chopped onion, coriander seeds, green chillies, salt, asafoetida, soda and salt. Mix well.
- Add besan and work on the mixture. The onions will release moisture and you'll find a wet dough.
- Add 1 tbsp hot oil to the dough and mix very well. Hot oil makes the tikkis crisp!
- Make an orange sized ball with the dough and put in the hot oil to fry on high flame
- Once the ball is half fried, take it out of the oil.
- Carefully flatten the ball to form a fat tikki by keeping the ball in between a kitchen towel and gently pressing it.
- Now refreshing the tikki once again in hot oil on medium flame till its brown and crisp
- Serve hot with fried green chillies and chutney and piping hot Chai !! Super tempting perfect indulgence on a rainy day!!
