Instructions

  • To make shimla mirch besan, first wash the capsicum with water. Then remove the stalk and cut it into small pieces with the help of a knife. Now keep the pan on the gas for heating. Then fry the gram flour in a pan on a low flame for 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes golden brown. When the gram flour is roasted, take it out in a plate. Now put oil in the pan and keep it warm. When oil is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fennel. When cumin and fennel become light brown, add chopped capsicum to it. Then add salt, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar to it and mix all the things with the help of a spoon. Reduce the flame to low and let it cook for 6 to 7 minutes. When the capsicum is cooked, add half a cup of roasted gram flour and add lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of water and mix it with the help of a spatula. Then let the capsicum and gram flour cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the gas after 3 minutes. Serve.
