- Remove the brown edges of the bread slices and cut them into square pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bread pieces till crisp and golden brown evenly.
- Drain them on paper towels and keep aside.
- Combine the sugar, water and cardamom powder in a saucepan and mix well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Let the syrup boil until you get a half thread consistency. Remove from the heat.
- Dip the fried bread slices in the hot syrup for a few seconds and take out. Arrange them in a plate and sprinkle the chopped pistachios or almonds on top when the slices are still sticky
- Let them cool completely and enjoy! 🙂
