Ingredients

  • 6 Bread Slices
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • A pinch of Cardamom
  • Grated coconut to garnish
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Remove the brown edges of the bread slices and cut them into square pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bread pieces till crisp and golden brown evenly.
  • Drain them on paper towels and keep aside.
  • Combine the sugar, water and cardamom powder in a saucepan and mix well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Let the syrup boil until you get a half thread consistency. Remove from the heat.
  • Dip the fried bread slices in the hot syrup for a few seconds and take out. Arrange them in a plate and sprinkle the chopped pistachios or almonds on top when the slices are still sticky
  • Let them cool completely and enjoy! 🙂

Notes/Tips

Don't fry bread slices on high flame.
