Ingredients

  • 1 cup thick poha, 1/2 cup suji, 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup rice flour, 2tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes, 1 tsp ginger chilli paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, salt to taste, 1tbsp dessicat
  • 1 tbsp seasme seeds

Instructions

  • In a bowl place seive and rinse 1cup poha, transfer the poha in another bowl and to it add rava, buttermilk,1/2 tsp and mix them nicely. Cover & Keep it aside to rest for 25-30 minutes. Make sure poha & rava absorbs the buttermilk properly. Once done to it add chilli ginger paste, chopped coriander, cumin seeds, chilli flakes, seasme seeds, coconut. Squeeze and mix well making sure that everything is well combined. Further add rice flour and mix forming a soft dough.
  • Grease hand with oil & pinch small ball size portion from dough. Flatten slightly & with help of cookie cutter give the desired shape u want & make a hole in the centre. Repeat the process for entire dough.. Deep fry the wadas in hot oil keeping the flame medium.
  • Stirr occasionally and fry until turn golden and crisp. Once done drain off the wada on kitchen towel. Buttermilk wada are ready to serve,enjoy with your preferred choice of chutney/ dip..
  • Note : For rich flavor make sure to take sour buttermilk. Poha & Rava should be properly soaked else the wada will not be good. For Enhancing the taste, Choice of vegetables can be added in the mixture.
