Malpua is treated in a very different way. I tried to give a new flavor and it was successful.

Carrot Malpua

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sized red carrots
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tbsp milk powder
  • 5 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp fine suji/samolina
  • 1 tbsp malai
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Dryfruits for garnish
  • Red food colour (optional)
  • For sugar syrup : 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Peel the carrots and cut into vertical pieces. If the middle part is yellow, remove it with a knife.
  • Chop the carrots, add a little milk in a mixer and make a paste. Take it out in a bowl and add milk powder, all purpose flour, fine semolina, malai, red food colour (optional), salt, powdered sugar. Mix well and cover for five minutes.
  • After 5 minutes add baking powder and remaining milk and mix well.
  • To make sugar syrup: Add sugar, water and cook one string consistency, add cardamom powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan. After heating, add 1 tbsp mixture. Cook over medium heat on both sides.
  • After it is cooked, take it out and squeeze the excess oil with a spoon. Add to the sugar syrup and absorb for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish the dishes one by one malpua. Top with dried fruits. Serve Carrot Malpua.

Notes/Tips

You can also add pineapple or strawberry flavor. You can use pineapple or strawberry pulp for this flavor. If sugar is used in the pulp, it does not need to be sugar syrup.
