Ingredients

  • 1 cup Black Chana
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 2 Green Chilli, 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds, 1” ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • Salt as required
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Soak Chana overnight, pressure cook with sufficient oil + salt. Strain water.
  • In moderately heated pan, add oil, add cumin seeds, allow to crackle, then add onion and sauté till pinkish then add ginger + garlic + chilli and sauté for few seconds. Add tomatoes + all spices and stir fry till spices turn aromatic.
  • Add boiled Chana land sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add water and cook for 3-4 minutes. Water should be added as per preferred consistency.
  • Chana Masala is ready.
  • Enjoy with roti / paratha
