Chikoo halwa

Ingredients

  • Chikoo ( Sapota ) -6 to 8
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1/4 cup
  • Khoya 1/4 cup
  • Dry fruits ( chopped ) 2 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - I tsp

Instructions

  • Peel the chikkus and mash them with hand. ( After removing the seeds ).
  • Heat ghee in a thick bottomed kadai and fry dry nuts. Remove and keep aside.
  • In the same kadai, add mashed chikus and saute for 5 mins.
  • Add khoya and sugar. Keep stirring till the mixture becomes thick and starts leaving the sides of the kadai.
  • Add elaichi powder and fried dry nuts.

Notes/Tips

1. Choose ripe chikus for making halwa. 2. Adjust the quantity of sugar depending on the sweetness of chikus. 3. Keep the flame low through out the making.
