  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1 tsp Coffee powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp Jaggery powder
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • ¼ cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • Chocolate syrup (for garnishing)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together milk, vinegar and oil.
  • Using a sieve, sieve out the dry ingredients; wheat flour, cornflour, baking powder, baking soda, milk powder, coffee powder, cocoa powder and jaggery powder into it.
  • Mix together to make a smooth lump free batter. Add in vanilla essence and mix.
  • Take the idli mould and grease it with oil before pouring the prepared batter in it.
  • Make sure to add enough water in the idli pan and bring it to a boil then place your idli moulds inside it and cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  • To check whether they are cooked or not, you can pierce a toothpick or a knife into it and if comes out clean, then it's done.
  • Once cooked perfectly, remove them in a plate and garnish with chocolate syrup.

Notes/Tips

Powdered sugar could be used instead of jaggery.
