Chocolate Mousse Cake

  • AP Flour
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Sugar
  • Egg
  • Baking Powder
  • Buttermilk
  • Oil ( any odourless)
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Salt
  • Egg Yolks
  • Cream
  • Sugar
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Gelatin

Instructions

  • Using the first 9 ingredients make a cake first. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt and keep aside. Whisk together the oil, egg, buttermilk and sugar till you get a creamy texture and the sugar is almost dissolved.
  • Now add Vanilla extract and five a good mix. Ads the sifted flour mix ams fold into it till nicely incorporated. Pour batter inna 9" Springform pan amd bake in a pre-heated oven at 175 c for 20-25 minutes. ( it's a thin cake so plz check once after 15 Mi
  • Now make the mousse. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and set aside to cool a bit. In a bowl whisk the eg yolks nicely. Whisk one tetrapack of cream to medium peaks. In a sauBring the other pack of cream and sugar to a gentle boil over medium Heat
  • As soon as the sides start bubbling remove From heat amd pour into the beaten Eggs whisking continuously. Now pass this egg custard mix through a sieve into the melted chocolate ( make sure the chocolate is not too hot else it will curdle) and mix well.
  • Mix the gelatin with about 2 Tbs of water in a heat resistant bowl and place over boiling water. Stir till it is fully dissolved. Add this to the mousse mix and stir quickly to combine evenly.
  • Now Pour The Mousse Mix Over The Cake, Tap To Remove Bubbles, cover with cling film and refrigerate for upto 3 hours. Once the mousse is set, place it at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Run a knife around the cake pan and gently unmould.
  • Top with sprinkles or decorate as you like and serve.
