Chutney and tomato ketchup filled idli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Curd -
  • 1 cup Samolina -
  • Salt - 3/4 th.t.sp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 t.sp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 t.sp
  • Kari patta -6-7
  • Oil - 2 tb.sp
  • Mint chutney/chilli sauce -2 tb.sp
  • Tomato ketchup- 3 tb.sp
  • Eno fruit salt - 1 pouch

Instructions

  • Mix curd,samolina and salt.Add water to make batter.
  • Heat 1 tb.sp.oil,add mustard seeds,red chilli powder and kar patta.Saute.Crackle the mustard seeds and switch off the gas.Pour it in the batter and mix.Let it rest for 7 min.
  • Grease the idli stand.Boil water in a cooker.Just before steaming the idlis add Eno fruit salt and 2-3 drops of water and mix.
  • Now pour 1 tb.sp. batter in the idli mould,fill it with mint chutney and pour 1 tb.sp.batter to cover the chutney.In the same way fill the idlis with tomato ketchup and steam them for 7 min.
  • Your spicy and yummy idlis are ready to serve.Srrve it with mint chutney and tomato ketchup.
