- Chop onion finely. Pressure cook chana dal until it turns soft. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add broken urad dal, peanuts,dry red chillies and asafoetida. Once dal turns brown, add chopped onions and curry leaves. Saute till onions turn light brown. Now add chopped cluster beans along with salt and turmeric powder. Fry for 2 minutes. Then add little water. Cover and cook till beans turn soft. Then add cooked chana dal and cook for 3-4 minute, stirring. Finally add grated coconut and let this cook for a minute. Turn off the stove and serve with rice, chapathi.
