Crispy Methi Fritters or Methi Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh fenugreek/methi leaves
  • 3-4 green onion
  • 1/2 cup approx gram flour/besan
  • 1 tbsp+1tsp rice flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp carom seeds/ajwain
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger - chilli paste
  • Oil to deep fry fritters

Instructions

  • Wash and pat dry fenugreek leaves. Then finely chopped the leaves and green onions.
  • Further, add in gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, baking powder, salt to taste, 1tsp oil and ginger-chill paste. * I also add few whole green chilli for those who like more spicy.
  • Combined everything well, add 2-3tsp water if required. Meanwhile keep the oil on heat.
  • Keep the flame on medium. Take small portion of mixture and place it in heat oil. Fry fritters till golden brown and crispy. Similarly make all Methi Pakoda or fritters
  • Serve immediately hot with a cup of hot tea and coffee. Enjoy your winter evening with this delicious treat
