  • 500 ml milk
  • 3 tsp custard powder
  • 3-4 slices chocolate cake
  • 1 cup fresh mixed fruits (check notes)
  • 2 tbsp candied cherry chopped or sliced
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  • Take some luke warm milk in a small bowl. Add the custard powder and mix well without any lumps.
  • Take a pan and bring the milk to boil. Add the sugar and let the sugar dissolve completely.
  • Now reduce the heat and add the custard powder milk mixture and stir continously so it doesn't form any lumps. Cook for 2-3 mins stirring continuously on low-medium heat.
  • Take off the heat, let it cool down for sometime in room temperature and then keep in the refrigerator for sometime to cool down completely.
  • Now for layering, in a serving bowl/glass whichever you are using, start by putting the cake first, followed by fruits layer, custard and candied Cherries.
  • Repeat the layerings again. Refrigerate for atleast 2-3 hours to serve it cold.

Notes/Tips

Sugar can be increased or decrease as per your sweet preference. Fresh fruits used in the recipe are apple, banana, green grapes, black grapes, orange segments. Avoid using melons, pineapple etc. You can use any sponge cake of your choice.
