  • Urad dal
  • Yogurt
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Red chilli powder
  • Raisins
  • Coriander
  • Oil
  • Sev
  • Chat masala
  • Cumin powder
  • Mint chutney
  • Cashwes

Instructions

  • Wash and soak the dal in cold water overnight. Next day, strain and grind to a smooth paste. Whisk into the batter 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Heat oil, drop tablespoons of batter in it and fry until light golden.For a variation , use raisins and cashews as stuffing in middle and deep fry in hot oil. Put the above prepared bhalla's in hot water. Leave for 2 minutes. Drain, squeezing out the water between the palm of your hands. Whisk the yogurt well with sugar as to taste. Serve the bhalla's on a plate and cover it with yogurt. Drizzle mint chutney and tamarind chutney, red chili powder, sev, cumin powder. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve it.
