Dal Pakwan

Ingredients

  • For pakwan: Maida 1 cup
  • Wheat flour 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Hing 1/4tsp
  • Oil 1 tsp + frying
  • Water as required
  • For dal: Soaked chana dal 2 cup
  • Salt
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Hing pinch
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander cumin seeds powder 1 tsp
  • Garm masala 1 tsp
  • Amchur powder 1 tsp
  • For tempering: Oil 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Hing pinch
  • Curry leaves 4-5
  • Other: Chopped onion
  • Chopped tomato
  • Chopped coriander as required
  • Green chutney
  • Sweet chutney
  • Fried green chilli

Instructions

  • For pakwan In mixing bowl add flour and seasoning in it. Make dough like roti. Rest for 15 minutes
  • Now make big size puri from it. Prick with the fok and dip fry them all. Till crispy and golden brown in color.
  • For dal In pressure cooker add dal, salt and turmeric powder and cook for 2 whistles
  • Release the press from it then add remaining seasoning in it . Add the water to adjust the consistency
  • Now do the tempering on it and mix it.
  • Assemble Take a serving plate put the puri on it then pour the dal on it. Then add green chutney, sweet chutney, onion, tomatoes, coriander as per taste on it. Serve it immediately

Notes/Tips

For the pakwan any combination of flour as per the choice and taste can be done.
