Ingredients

  • 1 cup arhar daal
  • 1 cup rice
  • As Per Taste As per test salt
  • Half tablespoon red chilli powder
  • Half tablespoon turmeric powder
  • Half tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 Tablespoons ghee
  • 1/4 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 2 onions
  • 2 Tomatoes

Instructions

  • Soak dal and rice separately for half-hour.
  • Wash arhar dal with water and cook in pressure cooker along with salt and turmeric powder. Add 4 cup of water. After 2 whistles off the flame.
  • After releasing the steam open the lid and stir cooked dal very well.
  • Meanwhile, heat a kadhai add 2tsp ghee.,then add hing and cumin seed when it splutters then add finely chopped tomatoes.
  • Add red chili powder little bit of salt and coriander leaf...cook for a while for 5min.
  • After that pour the daal mix it well.
  • Cook rice by adding double the water on the high flame when 95% cooked add ghee cover the lid for five minutes cook in low flame switch off the flame rice is ready.
