  • Chana dal
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Red chilli powder
  • Green chillies
  • Oil
  • Drum sticks
  • Bottle gourd
  • Corinader
  • Tamarind
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Wash the chana dal thoroughly and add it to a pressure cooker along with 1 chopped onion, tomato, chopped ginger and garlic. Add 1-2 slit green chillies, tamarind and salt with red chilli powder according to taste. Add in 2 cups of water and let it cook for 10 minutes or till 5 whistles. Mash the dal a little bit. Now that the dal is ready, add the chopped bottle gourd with the drumsticks, coriander leaves and add some oil in it. Let this cook on a low flame until the vegetables are done or you can also pressure cook them for 2 whistles. Open the cooker and let it cook more until the oil comes to the surface. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice or chapati!
