- Add maid, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Mix well
- Add water and knead into a soft dough. (soft like chapati dough)
- cover and keep it aside for 20 minutes
- Form small balls from the dough (like in the case of a roti) roll out the dough just as thick as a roti
- cut out thin strips from the rolled out dough
- heat oil/ ghee in a kadai. ( i prefer to use ghee)
- fry these strips in the hot ghee/ oil till golden in colour.
- take a pan, put 1/8th cup sugar and 1/16th cup water. Boil this mixture till it forms into a thick syrup.
- take this sugar syrup off the heat and add the honey and mix vigorously.
- In the serving plate, keep your fried maida strips, pour the sugar-honey syrup on top.
- Get a scoop of cold vanilla ice-cream and serve it on top of these fried maida strips drenched in sugar-honey syrup!!
