Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1/2 cup bengal gram
  • 1/4 cup black gram
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1+1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • as required oil for deep frying
  • 1/4 tsp hing/asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp chat masala
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder

Instructions

  • To begin with, wash and rinse rice, both lentils together 2-3 times, soak for about 4-5 hours
  • Drain the water &grind to a smooth paste adding little water, ginger, green chilli& cumin seeds in a blender
  • Now add in turmeric powder, hing, cumin seeds, coriander powder,chat masala,&salt mix well..consistency of the batter should be little thicker, Heat up oil, pour a ladle full of batter in to the medium hot oil, after a while press them gently to puff up..make rest of the dhuskas in the same manner..
  • Take out on the kitchen towel to avoid excess oil.. serve with potato&tomato sabzi....enjoy
