  • Coconut
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Baking soda
  • Vanilla essence
  • Baking powder
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Orange food colour

Instructions

  • preheat the oven at 300 degree Fahrenheit. Next, take a large bowl and sift together all the dry ingredients: all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. If there are any leftover lumps, take a strainer and add those lumps in it. Take a spatula and press all those lumps. Once sifted, keep this bowl aside until required. Take a glass bowl and add sugar along with butter in it. Using a an electric beater, beat well both the ingredients until soft and creamy. Once done, add unsweetened desiccated coconut in it along with flour mixture, vanilla essence, orange food colour and milk. Mix together all the ingredients using a spatula. This will turn into a soft dough, which is neither runny nor sticky. Now, take some dough into your hand and shape in the form of a log. Repeat to prepare more logs and cover them in a plastic wrap. Keep them in the refrigerator to chill for 30-40 minutes. This procedure will make sure that the dough is easy to handle, and increases the texture of a cookie. Finally, take a baking tray and line it with a baking sheet, then grease it using a little butter. Once done, take out the logs when done and using a cookie cutter, cut it into as many shapes and sizes as you want. Once done, arrange these cut outs on the greased sheet and place the tray inside the preheated oven. Bake these cookies at 300 degree Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes.
