Ingredients

  • Foxtail millet - 1/4 cup
  • Moong dal - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 2 tablespoon
  • Jaggery - 1/4 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Badam, raisin - as reaquired

Instructions

  • First lets dry roast the 1/4 cup of foxtail millet and 1/2 cup of moong dal on a low flame till its fragrant and smells nutty. Set aside.
  • cook the thinai / foxtail millet along with moong dal with two cups of water in the pressure cooker with 4 whistles. Remove from heat and wait for the pressure to be released naturally. Set aside.
  • Take a pan and add in the jaggery and a cup of water. Bring it to a boil and let the mixture boil until the jaggery is completed.
  • Take a pan, add it to the cooked millet mixture. Add in half a cup of milk and simmer the mixture for a couple of minutes.
  • add it to jaggerry syrup. add a pinch of cardamon powder.
  • Take a pan and spread a small amount of ghee, add raisins and badam and add to the payasam.
  • Healthy and yummy
