Gajar Halwa Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Carrot
  • 1 litre Milk
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cup Refined flour/Maida
  • 100 g Butter
  • 4 tbsp Sugar powder
  • 1 tsp Pink food colour
  • 2 tbsp Almonds
  • 2 tbsp Raisins
  • 2 tbsp Pistachios
  • 200 g Khoya

Instructions

  • For Halwa, wash, peel and grate carrots.
  • Boil grated carrots in a pressure cooker with milk for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  • Transfer in a wok, add nuts and cook on high heat till it becomes dry.
  • Add sugar and ghee, cook till ghee leaves from sides.
  • Add khoya and cook for another 5 minutes, tgen switch off the heat.
  • For tart, take flour and butter in bowl.
  • Add sugar and milk and knead a dough.
  • Add pink colour in dough and knead again. Keep in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
  • Take out the dough from fridge and roll out from rolling pin.
  • Brush butter in a heart shape cake mould and arrange rolled dough in it.
  • Prick it with the help of a fork and bake it for 25 minutes.
  • Remove it from oven and allow it to cool.
  • Fill it with prepared gajar halwa and arnish with pistachios, khoya and cherry.
