Gajar ka halwa is a traditional North Indian dessert made by simmering fresh grated carrots with full fat milk, sugar and ghee. This delicious dessert is delicately scented with cardamom powder and garnished with chopped nuts.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Ghee
  • 4 Cup Grated Carrot
  • 4 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Malai

Instructions

  • Firstly, add ghee in a heavy bottom kadai.Secondly, add grated carrot in it and roast for 3 minutes on medium flame.Then add milk in carrot. And cook for 30 minutes on low to medium flame. Meanwhile mix it gently few times.
  • When milk start evaporated, then add sugar and cardamom powder in it and mix gently. Cook for 10 minutes on low flame or till milk and sugar mixture evaporated.Now add malai in it and mix it. Cook it for 2 minutes.
