Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of grated carrot
  • 6 Spoons of Ghee
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 1 and 1/2 cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 litre of Milk
  • 1 tea spoon of cardamom powder
  • 9 Almonds, 9 cashew nuts, 15 gms of waterme seeds
  • Silver paper
  • Few drops of lemon juice

Instructions

  • Use a heated pan to fry the dry fruits in ghee on low flame and keep aside.
  • To that left over ghee ,add some more spoons and mix the grated carrot .Fry it until the carrot is cooked.
  • Meanwhile prepare the sugar syrup by adding water,sugar and cardamom powder until it becomes thick.
  • Now add the sugar syrup to the fried carrot and mix till all the water get exhausted to get the halwa.
  • Now prepare the Mawa by adding sugar,milk and few drops of lemon juice. Cook until we get the solid chunks of milk.
  • Now decorate the halwa by mixing the Mawa,fried dry fruits and silver paper.
  • Gajar ka halwa is ready to serve hot or cold.

Notes/Tips

Gajar ka halwa is good for eyes. We can use any dry fruits in halwa as per our requirement.
