Ingredients

  • Half kg Gazar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 300 grams sugar
  • Ghee
  • Cardamom powder
  • Finely chopped dry fruits

Instructions

  • Wash the gazar and grate it finely.
  • Take a pan with thick bottom and add sugar and milk.
  • Place the pan on the stove at medium flame and keep stirring at regular intervals.
  • Once the gazar is cooked nicely add ghee and cardamom powder on low flame.
  • Cook the gazar for around 5 minutes after adding ghee and cardamom powder.
  • Garnish the halwa with chopped dry fruits.
  • Serve the halwa hot or cold as preferred.

Notes/Tips

While cooking the gazar stir it at regular intervals so that the gazar does not stick to the pan. Add ghee and cardamom powder at last for better flavour.
