Green moong- jaggery ladoos

  • 1 cup saboot moong
  • 1/4 cup ghee 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 3-4 cardamoms
  • 3/4 cup chopped jaggery pieces
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Start by washing saboot moong. Dry it very nicely overnight. Next heat a pan, put the clean moong and saute it till it gives a nice aroma and changes its colour to reddish brown. Now let the dal cool. After cooling put the roasted dal, salt and cardamoms in a blender jar and grind it into a powder.
  • Next heat a pan with ghee, put the dal powder in it and roast.
  • It doesn't take much time as dal is already roasted. Next add jaggery powder. (This is an optional stage. Instead of adding jaggery powder you can adjust the sweetness by adding jaggery syrup.) After adding jaggery powder mix it well. Transfer it into a plate. Next in a pan, put chopped jaggery pieces, into it put water and melt the jaggery. As it melts and bubbles up. Switch the flame off. Let it become warm. Add the melted jaggery into the green gram mixture
  • Mix it well and then bind ladoos. Ready!! Healthy, nutritious ladoos are ready... Enjoy them guilt free...but still mark your portions.
