Gujarati Lapsi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups broken wheat
  • 3 cups water
  • 1.5 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • Half cup chopped dry fruits

Instructions

  • Take a pan and add 2.5 tablespoons of ghee and let it heat for few minutes. Then add broken wheat and saute for 7-8 minutes on medium flame until the color changes.
  • Then take a cooker and add cooked broken wheat in it and add water.
  • Cook broken wheat for 3 whistles. Let the cooker cool for few minutes and open the lid. Then take 3 tablespoons of ghee in pan and saute lapsi for few minutes. Now, add sugar in lapsi and mix it well. Then add cinnamon powder, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix again properly.
  • The next step is to heat milk for few minutes and add it in lapsi. Cook lapsi for few minutes more and serve it hot with dry fruits.

Serve Hot with chopped dry fruits
