Instructions

  • Take 1 cup fresh coriander leaves and 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves in a grinder jar. Then add 1 green chili and 1/2 inch ginger to it. Next add 1 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp cumin seeds salt to taste and 1/4 cup grated fresh coconut to it. Add 2 tbsp water and grind to smooth puree. heat 2 tbsp oil in a large pan and roast 5-6 cashew nuts and keep them aside. In the same oil add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 5-6 curry leaves and 1 handful peanuts to it. Roast the peanuts on low flame till they become crunchy. Now, add 1 medium- sized chopped onion and 1/2 chopped capsicum to it. Sauté for around 5 minutes. Then add prepared Green Masala puree to it. Sauté for 2 minutes. Then add 1/4 cup green peas, and sauté for 2 more minutes. Place 2 cups of poha in a sieve and add water into it to rinse. Add rinsed poha to the pan. Mix them gently on low flame, make sure poha is mixed well with green masala. Add more salt as per taste. Cover and cook for a minute. Hara bhara Poha is ready to serve.
