Instructions

  • As the idiyappam is made of multi-colour, I have used natural food ingredients to enhance the flavor and add colour to the rice flour. Also this is a good way to feed vegetables to fuzzy eating kids. Secondly it steamed food.
  • For white colour idiyappam: Add salt to water and boil it. In a bowl take flour and pour the boiling water. With help of a spoon, roughly mix it to soft dough. Close it with a lid and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Always keep the dough covered either
  • Then add oil and knead well until the dough becomes soft. Fill the dough into the Idiyappam mould/chakkalimould Boil water in the Idli steamer and spread few drops of oil on the Idle plate and Squeeze the prepared dough slowly through the idiyappam ma
  • And steam for 10 minutues approximate and serve with coconut sweet milk For green colour idiyappam: 1/2 cup of  palak , boiled bit . Grind it to smooth paste. . The dough consistency should be same like the white dough.
  • For orange colour have used carrot : Grate the1/2cup  carrot squeeze juice out of it  and mix it with divided dough .For redcolour have used beetroot Grate the beetroot and squueeze out juice and add on to divided white dough
  • For yellow I have used turmeric powder Add 1 to spoon of turmeric to divided white dough
  • Coconut milk ; Take a coconut cut into small pieces and transfer to mixi jar and add little water plus cardomom and grind nicely take a muslin cloth start to squeeze the milk and again transfer the coconut and add bit of water and squeeze out milk do for

Eating steamed for is good for health and using multicolour food from veggies is good for health as well colourful to feed fuzzy kids
