Ingredients

  • Urad daal
  • Rice
  • Cornflour
  • Whole sugar
  • cardamom powder
  • Saffron strings
  • Water
  • Yellow food color
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  • Soak urad daal with rice for 2 hrs
  • Now rinse and drain water and keep urad daal and rice in refrigerator for half hour
  • Now grind it in mixy to a smooth batter with just 2 tbsp water
  • Now add cornflour to this batter and mix it
  • Leave this batter for half hour to rest for fermentation
  • Now with a whisk mix this batter to make it very fluffy
  • Add yellow food color to this batter and mix well
  • Meanwhile with whole sugar and water make sugar syrup of one string ,add cardam powder and saffron strings to it
  • Now fill the batter in piping bag
  • In medium hot oil make imartis out of it ,fry till golden
  • Immediately put it in hot sugar syrup of one string for five minutes
  • Serve hot

Notes/Tips

You can add orange food color instead of yellow food color
