- Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add star anise, cinnamon stick, black peppercorns, green cardamom, cloves and cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add rice and saute well. Add 3 cups water and salt and mix well. Cook on low heat and let it come to a boil. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes. Add chopped coriander and take the pan off the heat. Gently mix using a fork to separate the rice grain. Transfer onto a serving plate. Serve hot.
