Jowar cauliflower peas samosa

Ingredients

  • Jowar flour  ¾cup
  • Wheat flour ½cup
  • Salt ¼tsp
  • Oil  as required
  • Warm water  as required
  • Boiled potatoes -3
  • Green peas - ½cup
  • Cauliflower florets - 1cup
  • Chopped ginger- 1tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - ¼tsp
  • Chopped green chillies - 2
  • Red chilli powder- ½tbsp
  • Cumin powder-1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - ½tbsp
  • Raisins - Few
  • Broken Cashew - Few

Instructions

  • First make the dough by mixing jowar flour and all purpose flour with 2tbsp oil, water and a pinch of salt.
  • Boil potatoes, cauliflower and peas.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, ginger and green chillies saute for few seconds.
  • 4. Then add the boiled veggies and the powdered spices and mix it well. Saute it for few minutes.
  • 5. Mash the veggies, add raisins and cashews and keep it aside to cool.
  • To make the samosas, take a lemon size dough and roll into circular shape.
  • Cut the circular dough in the middlle to make cone shapes.
  • Now, fill the cones with potato, cauliflower and peas mixture.
  • Stuff properly and seal the edges.
  • Deep fry the samosas till golden yellow. Drain out the excess oil.
  • Jowar cauliflower samosas are ready to serve with mint chutney or sauce.

Notes/Tips

1. The dough should not be too sticky or wet. It should be semi-hard. 2. Knead the dough with warm water.
