- In a large tawa dry roast 2 tbsp sesame on low flame. transfer to the blender and keep aside. in the same tawa heat 1 tsp oil and add ¼ cup urad dal, ¼ cup chana dal. further, add 6 dried red chilli and few curry leaves. roast on low flame. now add 2 tbsp dry coconut and roast until the coconut turns golden. cool the mixture completely, and transfer to the mixi. also, add in small ball sized tamarind, ¼ tsp turmeric, pinch hing and 1 tsp salt. blend to coarse powder without adding any water. dosa podi is ready. to prepare the dosa, pour a ladleful of dosa batter. cover and cook for 1 minute or until the dosa is partially cooked. once the dosa is partially cooked, sprinkle prepared podi. spread 1-2 tsp of ghee uniformly on the dosa. cover and simmer for 30 seconds. Serve podi uttapam hot.
