Ingredients

  • 2cups, Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup, besan
  • a pinch soda
  • 2 1/2 cups, Water salt
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp hing
  • as required jira
  • as required , pepper powder and til if desired

Instructions

  • Sieve the flours and soda and mix well
  • Add salt, oil and hing to water and bring to a boil
  • Add in the sieved ingredients to the boiling water in batches and mix well, keeping the gas slow and bring all together like a dough (like khichoo)
  • Switch off gas and cover dough for 10 minutes
  • Open lid, Allow to cool until warm and smoothen the dough with greased hands Add more water and set soft dough consistency (like roti dough)
  • Now shape the Murukku as shown
  • With practice you can get it
  • Deep fry in hot oil on medium flame until crisp
  • Drain off excess oil
  • Serve and enjoy with family and friends
