Ingredients

  • Stuffing: Oil 1 tbsp
  • Hing 1/4 tsp
  • Masala 2-3 tbsp
  • Yellow mung dal 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Amchur powder 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cloves powder 1/2 tsp
  • Outer layer: Maida 1cup
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Water as required

Instructions

  • Soak dal for 1-2 hours and coarsely grind it
  • Outer layer Take mixing bowl add the maida, salt and oil to it, rub the oil in maida till it take shape in hand, then add the water gradually, make dough like a paratha. Rest for 30 minutes at least.
  • Stuffing Heat the oil in a pan add hing and roasted masala in it then add dal. Mix it well
  • Off the flame and add the remaining masala in it.
  • Cook it well by sprinkling the water as and when required.
  • Cool at room temperature.
  • Now take a small portion of dough, make it flate, fill the stuffing and seal it, again make it flate.
  • Now dip fry in oil at low flame till it's crispy.
  • Serve it with green chutney, sweet chutney, fried green chilli and onion.

Notes/Tips

Coriander seeds, black pepper, fennel seeds take 1 tbsp each and dry roasted at low flame and ground it in mortar and pestle.
