Litti is one of the most popular dish from Bihar and UP which is made with Whole Wheat flour and Sattu or Roasted Chana Powder. It is Served with roasted Brinjal or Chokha. Litti can be baked or Deep fried.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Flour- 400gm
  • Ghee/ Oil- 4-5 Tbsp
  • Milk- 1 Cup
  • Ajwain- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For the Sattu Filling
  • Sattu (roasted Chana Powder) - 1 Cup
  • Onion-1 small
  • Garlic- 6-8 cloves
  • Ginger- 1 inch
  • Green Coriander- 50 gm
  • lemon- 1
  • Green Chilli- 2-3
  • Mustard Oil- 1tbsp
  • Pickle Masala- 2 tsp
  • For Baigan Chokha
  • Brinjal (round)- 500 gm
  • Tomato-1
  • Onion-1
  • Garlic- 4-6 cloves
  • Green Chilli- 1
  • Ginger- 1 inch
  • Boiled Potatoes- 2
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • 1. Make a dough with flour, salt, ajwain, ghee and Milk. Cover and Keep it aside for half an hour. 2. Mix all the ingredients for Sattu Fillings. 3. Make a ball of wheat dough and fill it with Sattu mix 4. Pre Heat the oven at 200 C for 10 minutes 5. Bake the Littis for 30 minutes turning once. 6. Dip the Baked Litti in Ghee before serving. For Chokha or Mashed Brinjal 1. Roast the Brinjal and tomatoes on Gas Flames 2. Peel and mash and mix all the ingredients for the Chokha.
