Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Lauki
  • 1/2 cup sugar powder
  • -1/4cup Ghee
  • -1/2cup Milk
  • 1/4cup Khoya /Mawa
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • -2tbsp Mix dry fruits

Instructions

  • Take a fresh bottle gourd and peel it's skin.
  • Cut into halves and discard the seeded portion.
  • Grated the gourd and keep aside.
  • Take some dryfruits of your choice. Heat a pan or kadai add a tsp of ghee and saute the dry for a minute.
  • Once sauteed well, remove and keep aside. In the same pan add a tbsp of ghee and add the grated gourd.Saute until it releases water.
  • Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes until it's soft and cooked
  • Remove the lid and cook until the water relased from the gourd dries up completely.Now add sugar and cook it until the gourd absorbs the sugar syrup.
  • Once it's combined add a tsp of elaichi powder.
  • Mix well and add the sauteed dry fruits.
  • Now add khoya and mix well.
  • Switch off the flame and mix well.Halwa is ready to be served.
  • Serve it hot or in room temperature as per your preference.
