- Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add 2 tablespoons flour, whisk and sauté for 30 seconds. Add milk, whisk and cook till it thickens. Add macaroni and cheese, mix and cook for a minute. Add salt and crushed peppercorns, mix and cook for 30 seconds. Spread onto a plate and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. Grease your palms with some oil. Divide the mixture into equal portions, shape them into balls and transfer them onto a plate. Combine ¼ cup flour, dried mixed herbs, salt, paprika and some water in a bowl and whisk well to make a smooth batter. Spread breadcrumbs on another plate. Dip each ball in prepared batter, coat with breadcrumbs and transfer onto the same plate. Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Deep-fry prepared balls in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
