Ingredients

  • 1/3rd small bowl of rice
  • 1/2 small bowl moong dal
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 4 to 5 tbsp sugar
  • Some chopped nuts
  • A pinch of cardamom
  • 40 to 60 ml water

Instructions

  • First take some soaked rice and dal. Add them in a pressure cooker. Add 40 to 60 ml water. Pressure cook them for 5 to 6 whistles. Then leave it to cool down.
  • Now take some milk and reduce the milk half on medium to high flame.
  • Then add cooked rice and dal. First mash them well then add.
  • Cook them until it turns thick. But we do not want extra thick. The consistency of the kheer has to be nice and pouring like kheer.
  • Now,add sugar. Add cardamom. Mix well.
  • Now add some nuts. Mix well. Turn off the heat and leave it to cool down. Makuti is ready to serve.
