Matar Idli with red spicy chutney

  • Green peas
  • Suji
  • Yogurt(curd)
  • Eno(fruit salt)
  • Salt
  • Chopped onion
  • Chopped tomato
  • Crushed coconut
  • Jeera(cumin seeds)
  • Oil
  • Red chillies
  • Tamarind
  • Salt

Instructions

  • MIX Suji AND CURD TOGETHER ADDING WATER TILL THE CONSISTENCY BECOMES PREFECT. STIR Properly AND KEEP THE Batter aside for 10 MINS.
  • NOW TAKE THE green pea and grind them finely. Add onion and coriander (exception) with the green peas.
  • Now, After 20 minutes as you can See the batter has been properly Settled, add the mixed green peas to eat. Mix properly. Now add the eno into it. After adding the eno, make as usual you make idli in the steamer.
  • Now for the chutney: Add some oil in a Pan. Add cumin seeds, finely chopped onion, and tomato and let it cook in a low Flame for 10 mins, untill all the tomatoes juice are Extracted. Now, off the gas and let it cool down.
  • After it gets cooled down, Put them in the mixer with the Coconut and grind them well. Add a pinch of salt to taste.
  • Now make tadka to spread over the chutney. Note: tadka is the same that you make for Dal, or for dhoklas.

Notes/Tips

This is one of the most healthy food that you can serve in the breakfast as idlies are light weight and these matar idlis are proteinuous.
