  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Oil
  • Cloves
  • Black pepper
  • Ginger
  • Green chillies
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Coriander powder
  • Red chilli powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Garam masala
  • Chopped coriander

Instructions

  • Roughly slice onions and tomatoes. Heat 2 tbsps. oil in a kadai, black peppercorns and the sliced onions and sauté till they turn translucent. Add garlic cloves, ginger and green to chillies and mix well. Cook till the onions turn golden brown. Add tomatoes and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or till the tomatoes turn pulpy. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder and mix well. Cook for a minute. Add ½ cup water and salt and mix well. Cook for 1 minute and take the pan off the heat and allow to cool slightly. Transfer the prepared mixture into a blender jar and blend to a fine paste. Heat remaining oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add the prepared paste and sauté well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour 1 cup water, mix and cook for a minute. Add green peas, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add paneer and mix well, cook for a minute. Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix. Sprinkle chopped coriander and transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
