  • Urad dal
  • Onion
  • Cumin
  • Black pepper
  • Chillies
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Water
  • Curry leaves
  • Hing
  • Coriander

Instructions

  • Small 1cup urad dal in a small deep pot. Wash it 2-3 times in water.then soak it in 1.1/2cup of water for 2-3 hours. After 3 hours,drain excess water and take it into a blender and blend it well. Can also add a bit of cold water.but it should not be fluied. Batter should be thick in consistency. Transfer batter into a bowl and beat it for 1-2 minutes with your hands.this helps for fluffyness and softness.add chopped onion,green chillies,cumin,crushed black pepper,curry leaves,hing, coriander,salt.mix well. Heat oil in deep kadai then wer you palm and take a portion of batter and press it gently and make thick round shaped Vada. Make a whole In center with thumb finger and slowly slide Vada in oil.fey them until they turn golden brown in colour.take it out and place it on kitchen paper and serve hot with coconut chutney.
