  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Green chillies
  • Garlic
  • Turmeric
  • Red chilli powder
  • Cumin
  • Mustard
  • Fenugreek
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Slightly scrape the skin of the drumsticks and then cut the drumsticks into 2 inch pieces and set aside. Chop onions and tomatoes finely. Crush the garlic cloves. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. Once cumin seeds slightly change color, add chopped onions, slit green chillies, crushed garlic and curry leaves. Saute till onions turn translucent. Then add the chopped tomatoes. Cook till tomatoes turn soft and pulpy. Now add the drumstick pieces along with salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well. Add 1 cup water. Cover and cook on medium flame till drumsticks turn soft. Keep stirring occasionally. Add some more water if required. Once the drumsticks are cooked and gravy reaches desired consistency, remove from heat. Drumstick tomato curry is ready to be served with rotis or rice.
